Ágnes Eperjesi is a versatile artist who offers artistic solutions to current social issues and an in-depth knowledge of her raw material, with scientific precision. Her sensitivity to pressing problems and technical challenges is evident in all her works. As part of her studies in chromatics, she created photograms on colored material with the aim of systematically exploring the possibilities of working with colored light and materials sensitive to such light. It was during these studies that her interest shifted to the phenomenon of secondary
density.

Secondary density is a characteristic fault or mistake in the colored material, which cannot be observed with the traditional techniques of magnification. This phenomenon was the focus of her series of works entitled Soft Constructivism, where she capitalized upon this particular property of the raw material. Determined by the physical forces themselves causing the phenomenon of secondary density, this processing method yielded accomplished works of arts which demonstrate the reactions occurring on paper when exposed to light.


Eperjesi Ágnes művészetének sokszínűsége a megfigyelő tudományos pontosságú problémafeltevéseire adott művészi válaszok felől közelíthető meg a leginkább. Ez a problémaérzékenység hajtja, amikor aktuális társadalmi problémákra reagál, és akkor is, amikor a fotólabor sötét magányában a fotó nyersanyagának szokatlan jelenségeit kutatja. Színtani tanulmányai során színes nyersanyagra készített fotogramokat, szisztematikusan tárta fel a színes fény és a színes fényre érzékeny nyersanyag lehetőségeit. E kutatás során merült fel a mellékdenzitás jelenségének művészi vizsgálata is.

A mellékdenzitás a színes nyersanyag egy tökéletlensége, amely a hagyományos színes nagyítás esetében egyáltalán nem vehető észre. Eperjesi ezt a jelenséget emelte ki a Lágy konstruktivizmus című sorozatában, képalkotásra használva az alapanyagnak ezt a tulajdonságát. A jelenséget kiváltó okok egyben a feldolgozási formát is meghatározták, s egy nagyon letisztult, tisztán a fény és papír reakcióit dokumentáló sorozat formájában
tárgyiasult.
